The new year is almost upon us; as we’re about to embark on 2022, let’s take a look at some of the 2021 highlights for Magalixers. It’s been a great year filled with a lot of fun, learning, many product releases, team events and gatherings, and more.
Let’s take a look at some of the key events and milestones for Magalixers.
The Magalix family has rapidly grown in the past two years. With only two employees in the Cairo office in 2019, our team, like our product, has expanded well and we can (almost) fill a football field.
This year, we welcomed 4 new Magalixers to the R&D Engineering team:
Ahmed Samir, Mohamed Ghanim, Noha Elsayed, and Ziad Hosni.

We’re always looking for new talent to join our global and remote team. Check out our open vacancies here.
Stress is a natural and consistent part of being a part of the professional world, and while we do strive for a stress-free working environment, sometimes stress just creeps up on us. Creating and fostering a work culture that is enjoyable for all is one of our goals.
As such, Magalix shut down the company for two days and took all Magalixers along with their family on a two-day trip to Ain Sokhna, a town along the Gulf of Suez of the Red Sea.

With the COVID vaccinations and the easing of travel restrictions, Magalix CEO and CTO, Mohamed F. Ahmed and Ahmed Badran, have taken the chance and traveled to Egypt to meet and work with the team in person.
Following a long, hard-working day full of meetings, Magalixers headed out for a delicious dinner in Sofitel, Cairo, with a fantastic view of Egypt’s Nile.

Magalix planned a fun-filled day of activities for all of Magalix Cairo employees to facilitate bonding between Magalixers, reduce stress, and give everyone a chance to get to know their fellow colleagues better. The theme of the day and all the activities were collaboration and trust.

Magalix took part of Generation Next, an event organized by Egypt’s Ministry of International Cooperation and Egypt Ventures in June 2021. The event showcased the game changers and leaders in Egypt’s startup technology ecosystem, who has played a key role in fostering innovation in Egypt.
For over two years, Magalix has organized and hosted Cairo Kubernetes Meetup, a monthly virtual event for all Kubernetes enthusiasts in Cairo and the Middle East. The meetup is for all those interested in learning and discussing different topics around Kubernetes - from microservices, containers, and the solutions that deploy, manage, and extend them. The meetup is free for all and open to all engineers, all skill levels.
And we are very happy to say that we’ve held 12 meetups this year to 100s of Kubernetes enthusiasts and learners. Check out our past meetups on our YouTube Channel here.
All in all, it’s been a great year for Magalixers. 2022 promises to be an even more exciting year. So from all of us here at Magalix, we wish you a Happy New Year and hope that 2022 brings you good health, happiness, and success.
