We recently joined forces with Weaveworks, the GitOps company, to strengthen security for GitOps pipelines. Today, we are excited to announce the latest feature release for Weave GitOps. The March release builds on the initial General Availability release at the end of 2021 and adds in the extended security and policy as code capabilities to the GitOps workflows, UI improvements that accelerate self-service and tech preview of Flux extensions.
Weave GitOps, the full-stack GitOps platform, offers a complete solution for all GitOps requirements - from continuous deployments of applications to the management of a fleet of Kubernetes clusters across multiple platforms.
The policy as code capabilities will automate trusted application delivery and secure infrastructure management for any Kubernetes. Any misconfigurations are automatically detected, alerts sent, and deployment will be halted. The policy engine is built on the Open Policy Agent and includes a library of 100s of security and compliance policies. All of these policies are stored in Git, simplifying the management and control of the policies.
“As it stands, the entire industry has grown used to an approach whereby configuration is verified after deployment and problems are fixed after the fact,” explained Alexis Richardson, founder and CEO of Weaveworks. “Integrating policy as code into the GitOps pipeline allows errors or vulnerabilities to be caught automatically before they make it into production and become a significant cost to the organization. Trusted application delivery – with its declarative approach to compliance and security – will certainly become standard in enterprise’s use of GitOps.”
Trust Application Delivery consists of the following features:

Join us for our upcoming launch webinar on March 29 at 10 am PT to see a live demo of Weave GitOps. We will focus on trusted application delivery - adding policy as code to GitOps. The benefits are enforcing security and compliance, application resilience and coding standards from source to production. We will demo how a combination of secure GitOps pipelines and continuous security checks through codified policies, enforces security best practices and higher security standards across the software development lifecycle.
